Cumulus’ WABC’s holiday Radiothon for the Kids, broadcast live from Cohen Children’s Medical Center, raised a total of $205,213 for the Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

Funds raised during Friday’s radiothon go directly to Cohen Children’s Medical Center and will be used for lifesaving patient care and equipment, pediatric research, Child Life services, and charitable cases, benefiting the children and families of their community. Cohen Children’s Medical Center is a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network and has been the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital covering all of New York City and Long Island since 1997.

The funds raised by TALKRADIO 77 WABC’s Radiothon for the Kids will also support a vital program for the patients: the Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. The child life specialists’ goal is to minimize stress for children and their families coping with hospitalization and illness, through the use of technology, play, art therapy, music therapy, pet therapy, and much more. The funds driven by the radiothon are essential to patients, families, and the hospital, which is funded solely through philanthropic dollars.

Chad Lopez, Vice President/Market Manager, 77 WABC, said: “TalkRadio 77 WABC’s first-ever holiday Radiothon for the Kids was an unqualified success, driving lifesaving funds to this world-class pediatric hospital. During this season of giving, we thank our listeners and sponsors for their incredible generosity and support for this most worthy cause. Together, we will help make the lives of children and families in our community healthier and happier.”
