Bonneville station KSFI’s annual all-Christmas music returned Friday with help from the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, which sang the “Hallelujah” chorus from Handel’s Messiah and delivered a special message to FM100.3.
“We knew we wanted to go big and who better to help than one of the world’s greatest and biggest choirs,” said Sue Kelley, Director of Programming.
The 360-member chorus of all volunteers is based in Salt Lake City and has been referred to as “America’s Choir,” as a result of their high standard of popular choral music. The Orchestra at Temple Square, like the choir an all-volunteer music ensemble, performs with the choir on all recordings, concerts, and nearly all weekly broadcasts. The Orchestra, founded in 1999, just celebrated its 20th anniversary.
