Bladder Cancer Sidelines The Great Bob Kingsley

1

So many of us have grown up listening to Bob Kingsley talk us through the most popular country songs of the week. In 1978, Bob took over as host of American Country Countdown. His program, now called Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40, is still heard on over 320 radio stations across the country.

Wednesday, on his website, the host of CT40 detailed the challenge he’s facing following the diagnosis of bladder cancer.

Kingsley told his fans he knows the road ahead will be challenging. “I want you to know I am blessed to be working with the very best in the medical profession, and they have a plan to deal with this awful disease.”

Westwood One will be announcing a temporary plan soon according to Kingsley, who said he will not be able to take part in the CMA awards this year. “You know friends, I’ve made a career out of #1s, and right now my #1 goal is getting back on the air to create more memories we’ll all be able to share, surrounded by the music we all love. I thank you in advance for the prayers and well wishes…they mean more to me than you could ever know.”
