Mike Moore is taking up the reins as PD of Cumulus Country station WKHX-FM/Kicks 101.5 in Atlanta. Moore heads to Atlanta from Portland, OR, where he was most recently VP of Programming for Entercom’s Portland station group and PD of “99.5 The Wolf” KWJJ-FM, a position he held for 16 years. Prior to that, he programmed WWKA-FM in Orlando, WWYZ in Hartford, CT, and WSIX-FM in Nashville. Moore serves on the board of the Country Music Association and was Entercom’s Director of Country Programming for 13 years.

Moore replaces Brian Thomas who exited the position in March. Greg Frey, VP/Programming Operations, has been programming the station since that time. Greg returns to his full-time VP/Programming Operations duties for Cumulus, while retaining some oversight of Kicks 101.5.

Brian Philips, Executive Vice President, Content and Audience, said, “As we met a strong field of senior candidates for WKHX, Mike Moore pushed his way to the front with thoughtful ideas and hard-driving enthusiasm.”

Sean Shannon, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Atlanta, said: “I have known and respected Mike for more than a dozen years. His ties are deep in country music and there can be nobody better to reinvent WKHX than Mike Moore.”
