In the investigation of the homophobic WWL tweet aimed at host Seth Dunlap, The New Orleans Police department has issued a warrant for Dunlap’s his cellphone. Entercom alleges Dunlap posted the tweet himself, from his cellphone in an attempt to extort the company of $1.8 million. Dunlap denies he posted the tweet, says he passed a polygraph .

Entercom says WWL management hired a forensic expert who determined the tweet was sent from an IP address associated with Dunlap’s phone. The station also says that it had been receiving letters that Dunlap’s wages were being garnished for unpaid personal debts. The report says cameras show Dunlap in his office with the door closed when the tweet was sent. Then the cameras show him opening the door and showing a co-worker the tweet and “apparently talking about the tweet.”

Dunlap’s attorney has said Dunlap has fully cooperated with Entercom in this investigation and claims that Entercom approached Dunlap to discuss settlement, “stating that they had cleared Mr. Dunlap as the source of the tweet.”
