Todd Stone’s decades-long career saw him working at a number of iconic stations, including KNGT-FM, 99.5, Lake Charles. Stone was morning show host and the former Program Director for “Gator 99.5.”

Townsquare Media Lake Charles Operations Manager Erik Tee met Stone when he first moved into the area almost 20 years ago. “I met Todd when I moved here in July 2001. Todd probably really didn’t know my last name but he offered to help me move when I first came into town. He was at my new place, waiting for me, before I got there.”

Stone was a well-known local musician playing with many bands throughout his career. He also was a police officer working for the Sulphur Police Department. Tee says his first love though was radio.

“He was a great guy with a great personality and a hard worker. He was always topical and knew what was going on in the community. That’s part of what made him a great broadcaster. He is really going to be missed. He had a great voice and had a natural presentation when you heard him on the air.”
