GMR Slams Entravision For Copyright Infringement

0

In a 15-page court filing, Irving Azoff’s Global Music Rights PRO alleges that Entravision played more than 130 of its compositions, over 10,000 times, all without obtaining a license.

GMR says it reached out to Entravision six times since 2016 to offer Entravision a license, and the company, “Did not respond, did not submit a signed license, and did not pay GMR any money.”

The RMLC has been locked in a litigation battle with GMR since 2016. As that litigation winds its way through the courts, GMR has been offering companies and radio stations licenses to air its compositions.

The artists GMR is alleging Entravision aired from their catalog include Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Metallica, The Who and others.

GMR is seeking a jury trial and $150,000 for each copyright infringed.

We have reached out to Entravision for comment. The RMLC had no comment.
