North Texas Public Broadcasting is marking the 10th year of broadcasting for KXT 91.7 FM with a series of events marking the station’s commitment to the local music community. Along with a local artist video contest and a live concert, the station will release a KXT Live Sessions album.

Going on the air in November 2009, the Adult Album Alternative station has been supporting emerging talent, unique live music performances and local musicians in North Texas. Since 2009 KXT has produced more than 375 live music events.

The “Tiny Cake” video contest will give the winning local artist a chance to perform an opening set at the Birthday concert and record an “On The Road” session in the artists hometown.

“We wanted to create an event that represents what the staion is all about,” said PD Amy Miller. “We’re looking forward to going through the submissions.”

The station has consistently been one of the top five most listened to Triple-A, public radio stations in the country.
