On Thursday, Holland (Michigan) Mayor Nancy DeBoer went on WHTC’s Talk of The Town radio show. On the program, the Mayor said she disapproved of the touring Michigan Drag Brunch group coming to town to perform. Here’s what happened after that.
A few callers into the program said the show didn’t align with their values. MLive reported that DeBoer expressed similar disapproval of the show, encouraging residents who were unhappy with the event to not attend.
Her comments had the complete opposite effect. After that appearance, ticket sales for the event surged and sold out in record time.
