Project 150 has awarded SOS Radio (KSOS) in Las Vegas with the 2019 Champion For Youth Award for service to Las Vegas’ homeless.

Project 150 currently serves more than 6,000 high school students in need, including 3,300 registered homeless and 3,100 non-registered homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students at 58 high schools in Southern Nevada.

Last summer, SOS Radio and its listeners raised over 90,000 cup noodles for homeless and displaced high school students in Nevada. Ramen was the most requested food item by the students Project 150 serves. SOS Radio created a campaign to stock Project 150 for the entire school year.

SOS Radio morning host, Scott Herrold said, “The Project 150 team told us its biggest need for the new school year was ramen cups, because they are the most requested item by homeless teens in our city. We wondered how many ramen cups it would take to stock Project 150 for the entire school year. When Project 150 gave us the number, we set it as a goal. The Christian community in Las Vegas stepped up to show homeless teens that they genuinely care for them. Our entire studio was stacked wall to wall, floor to ceiling with cases of cup noodles for a month!”
