On Monday, Chris Lytle gets things started as the opening speaker at the 13th annual Kellar Radio Talent Institute at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Lytle, of Instant Sales Training and a bestselling author, will be speaking to 24 students accepted into this year’s Institute.

In 10 days, lifelong broadcaster Kerby Confer returns to the Institute to do the closing session. Confer has owned, operated, and sold over 200 radio stations in his career and is still active in 70 properties today.

Over 40 broadcast pros will lead sessions over the 10 days. There are no breakout sessions; all students are in all the sessions, including on-air, sports, news, promotions, production, podcasting, engineering, digital, and sales through the RAB Radio Marketing Professional certification course.

In this first program of its kind in the world, the broadcast profession, universities, and the National Radio Talent System work together to discover, teach and develop students to bring fresh talent into the industry today to prepare the next generation of broadcast leaders for tomorrow.
