“The Place” Launching In Salt Lake

On Monday, with help from The Salem Radio Network, the KJJC Media Group will launch “The Place 1230 AM, KJJC, Common Sense Talk Radio.” KJJC Media CEO Roger Lonnquist says there’s probably never been a time in our country’s history when the need for relevant talk radio programming has been so significant. “KJJC Media Group recognized the opportunity for serving listeners with high-quality programming that is not only entertaining, but also reflects the values of our communities in the greater Salt Lake region.”

The new station will be the exclusive Salt Lake City flagship radio outlet for conservative hosts including Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Larry Elder and Joe Walsh, and others via the Salem Radio Network.

Phil Boyce, SVP Spoken Word Formats for the Salem Media Group added, Salt Lake City is home to the smartest and most engaged listeners to be found anywhere. “Our hosts look forward to engaging with the Salt Lake radio listeners on the issues that have an impact on all of us.”

The name The Place is a historical reference to Mormon leader Brigham Young’s comment he made upon settling in the region.

Lonnquist, who will simultaneously launch a mobile app via its website KJJC.us, says plans also include an FM simulcast by the end of summer.

  1. The RenegadeAV8R Radio Show plays on Saturday mornings at 6 AM. Call my office anytime with questions and you can find our show by searching and following us wherever you get podcasts. Grateful to be a part of this station’s line up.

  2. Before they start using a title for their station, they best look at copying some body elses program. Common Sense Talk Radio, is the property of a lady who syndicates a program, called Common Sense Radio. I have forwarded this article to her. Naught, Naughty.
