Radio One Sending Kids Camping

Radio One Richmond is partnering up with Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities and the Enrichmond Foundation to host the 12th Annual “Send-A-Kid to Camp” Radiothon, Thursday May 9, 8 a.m-8 p.m. Richmonders can help send area children ages 6-15 to summer specialty camps and after-school programs throughout the fall by tuning into WCDX-FM, WKJS-FM, WPZZ-FM, and WXGI-FM (ESPN).

“My goal is to keep children and young adults safe all year long through scholarships for the summer day camps and fall after-school programs,” said Radio One’s Miss Community Clovia.

The PRCF summer camp is a full-day comprehensive program that operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday for ages 6-12. Radio One Richmond and its partners are asking for donations from the community. For any donation of $25 or more, donors can request their favorite song to be played on the FM stations.

Donations can be made on May 9 by calling 804-521-8400 or going online to https://enrichmond.org/partners/send-a-kid-to-camp/. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
