Why Rush Is Loyal To Radio

On his program Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh said he is often asked why he’s not on satellite radio. He says his answer has always been his loyalty to radio.

Rush says when he first started, over 30 years ago, there was no satellite radio. “Without radio stations, this program would never have happened. Without the loyalty of radio stations, this program would never have happened. We’re on 600-plus of some of the greatest radio stations in the country, and I wouldn’t be here and I wouldn’t have enjoyed the immense success that we’ve all enjoyed without them.”

Rush went on to say that he has never considered leaving those radio stations. “Even keeping the program on radio and going to satellite, that would not be fair to the affiliates who have been with me from the get-go. I have so much appreciation for the radio stations that continue to carry this program. I never do take it for granted. They are a crucial ingredient in the links that bring this program to you, and so there’s never been any thought of undermining that. In fact, I try to do everything I can to buttress our relationship and make it worth their while to carry the program.”
