Hurley Named NJBA Broadcaster Of The Year

The New Jersey Broadcasters Association has selected its first-ever Broadcaster of the Year: Townsquare’s WPG morning host Harry Hurley.

NJBA President & CEO Paul S. Rotella said, “Harry Hurley has met all of the criteria [for the award] with a high degree of professionalism and a passionate dedication to his craft, and the NJBA is very proud of our inaugural Broadcaster of the Year recipient.”

Hurley will receive the award at the 2019 Awards Ceremony to be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Tropicana Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.

NJBA’s 2019 Hall of Fame inductees will also be recognized at the June 13 ceremony. They are:

– NAB Joint Board Chair Caroline Beasley (Beasley Broadcast Group)

– Darren Davis, President of the iHeartMedia Networks Group

– Townsquare CEO Bill Wilson

– Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President of Salem Radio Network & Spoken Word Formats at Salem Communications Corp.

– Radio trade journalist Tom Taylor (Taylor will also be awarded NJBA’s Lifetime Achievement Award)

– Emmis Communications Corporation’s founder and Chairman of the Board Jeff Smulyan

– Eddie Davis, longtime host of the top-rated Lite Rock Morning Show with Eddie Davis

– The late Bruce Williams, who for more than 29 years started his nationally syndicated show by saying, “Welcome my friends, welcome to my world.”
