We Just Had To Share This

As you all know, we are constantly asking for your classic studio pictures to include in our “Blast From The Past” feature, which has been a favorite of readers since the magazine was launched. This is not a classic photo, as you can see, but it was just too good to pass up.

Jonathan Green sent us an e-mail Tuesday evening. He’s been retired from radio for eight years but says he still enjoys reading Radio Ink. Thank you for that Mr. Green.

Jonathan says this is the gift he gave himself as a retirement present in 2010 after 41 years at WTMJ in Milwaukee. It’s a custom painted 2009 Harley-Davidson ElectraGlide Classic. Jonathan moved to Tucson so he could ride all year. This particular Harley, his sixth, has more than 82,000 miles, and another, his seveth, had 60,000 when he traded it for a new one, his eighth, that already has 6,000. Jonathan says, “I have ridden in 40 states, five Canadian provinces and New Zealand, both the north and south islands. I still write and record some commercials between rides, too.” Jonathan turns 75 in July.
