Buffalo Station Lands Their Kind Of Guy

WECK AM/FM/Buffalo, New York, has recruited veteran talent Bob O’Neil — aka “Bobby O” — to fill the Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. shift, along with fill-in responsibilities. Bobby O’s radio career began in Buffalo in the late 70s at stations like Rock 102, WKSE Kiss 98.5, and most recently, as Production Director and part-time air personality at MIX 96, WMSX, (which recently flipped to The Breeze format).

Glenn Topolski, WECK Programming Vice-President said, “Bobby O is a market and industry veteran. At WECK, that is exactly what we look for: DJs that the market knows and trusts.” Topolski added, “WECK is committed to live, on-air personalities, market legends. At WECK we don’t look for ways to get rid of air people, we look for ways to bring them aboard.”

“This is incredible. It’s like being part of an all-star family” Bobby O said. “The response I am getting is overwhelming. I have received calls and emails from listeners that used to listen to me in Buffalo 35 years ago. This is radio the way it should be. Fun, live, and local.”
