The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters’ Board of Directors has elected sports broadcaster, innovator, and educator Al Eschbach (pictured), along with broadcaster and industry advocate Vance Harrison. Eschbach and Harrison will be honored during the OAB Annual Convention on Friday, April 5, at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City.
Eschbach is recognized nationally as a pioneer of the very successful Sports Talk format. He also had a career as the host of numerous coaches shows from 1973 to 2006. Since 2003, he has been the preeminent educator of Sports Journalism at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord School of Journalism.
