It’s Entercom’s way of saluting philanthropic efforts: News Radio 1020 KDKA’s (KDKA-AM) seventh annual “Larry Richert Honors our Hometown Heroes” in Pittsburgh, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. ET at Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino
The station will present its Lifetime Achievement Honor to Rock and Roll Hall of Famer William “Smokey” Robinson (pictured), who will be in attendance. For over six decades, Robinson has used his platform to benefit countless causes in the community both locally and nationally. In addition, five individuals working on behalf of the Pittsburgh community will be honored with a $1,000 donation to a charity of their choice.
“Our annual ‘Hometown Heroes’ event is an opportunity for us to recognize the powerful contributions by individuals in our local community. This year, we are privileged to be able to spotlight ‘Smokey’ Robinson for the tremendous work he is doing both in Pittsburgh and beyond,” said Michael Spacciapolli, SVP and Market Manager, Entercom Pittsburgh.
The event will also feature musical performances from local performers Chris Jamison and FRZY, as well as a silent auction that will benefit Tree of Life Synagogue and Smokey Robinson Charity.
