Radio One Host Files Lawsuit After She’s Tased

This dates back to a story we covered in October when Radio One Atlanta host Qri Montague said she did nothing to warrant being tased during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday, Montague announced she was filing a lawsuit against the City of Atlanta, claiming excessive force by an officer.

According to Fox 5, Montague got stopped for not signaling a lane change. She got out of her car, raised her hands, and was placed in handcuffs. When the officer went back to his vehicle to check the plate on his computer, Montague disobeyed his instruction to remain still. She admits she got up and walked to her vehicle. She says she wanted to change her shirt because she had a radio station shirt on and did not want to embarrass her company. It was then that she was tased.

An investigation was started into officer Lemuel Gardner’s actions, however he resigned before the review could take place.
