Radio Cares In Alaska Too

Up in the “last frontier,” radio is helping the community just the way it does in the lower 48 — with plenty of enthusiasm. Alpha Media Alaska’s KBRJ-FM/Anchorage hosted its 23rd Annual Country Cares Radiothon on January 31 and February 1 in support of the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. KBEAR listeners responded to requests to become a Partner In Hope by supporting St. Jude with a $20-per-month pledge. The response was so impressive that KBEAR raised $92,930 and crossed the $2 million mark raised for St. Jude since 1996.

And the KBEAR staff are setting big goals for the 2020 Country Cares Radiothon and are excited to continue supporting St. Jude and their mission to end childhood cancer.

Market Manager Scott K. Smith remarked, “I couldn’t be more proud of the KBEAR team for doing so much to help in the effort to save the lives of so many precious children.”
