New York State radio legend Ed Baer passed away on January 1, 2019. Starting his radio career in 1957, Baer was one of the original WMCA Good Guys and the youngest member of the air staff. In 1986, he made his move to the Hudson Valley and was a part of WHUD for 29 years, working as WHUD’s morning man alongside co-host Mike Bennett. Baer retired in 2000, although he produced Pop Rewind on Sunday mornings up until 2015.

As a tribute to Ed Baer, this Sunday – January 6, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – 100.7 WHUD will re-broadcast his final Pop Rewind from Sunday, June 28, 2015. The audio will also be available to stream in WHUD.com’s On Demand section after Sunday’s airing.

All at WHUD expressed condolences to Ed’s wife Pearl, son and daughter Jeff and Susan, and his grandchildren, Denise, Kyle, Ryan and Trevor.

  1. Ed Baer was one of New York Radio’s treasures. We have lost so many of the radio greats recently, including the legendary Herb Oscar Anderson and Dan Ingram. My sincerest condolences to the Baer Family.

  2. Ed & Pearl Baer have been memorable people to the Bilotta’s for the past 33 years. Pearl Baer was our realtor, responsible for finding the property we called home for over 25 years. My father and Ed Baer had an existing professional relationship that quickly turned to a personal friendship once we moved to town.

Deepest condolences to the Baer Family.
