WEEI, Sox Announcer Part Ways

And it doesn’t sound like it was an amicable parting between Tim Neverett and WEEI. Neverett worked Red Sox games at the station for the past three years.

Chad Finn was the first to report the story at Boston.com and he quotes Neverett saying, “I chose to let my contract expire rather than go back and work for them.”

Neverett also told Finn that WEEI management told him back in June to start looking for another job.

In a story written by Alex Reimer on WEEI, Market Manager Mark Hannon said, “We thank Tim for his efforts and contributions over the years. He’s going out on top after the Red Sox championship season. We wish Tim the best in his future endeavors.”

No news on who will replace Neverett.
