Chaz & AJ — 99.1 PLR/Connecticut’s morning team — hosted their annual “Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus Toy Drive” on Friday, from 5:30 a.m. – 10 a.m., at Jordan’s Furniture in New Haven. And they gave Santa a run for his money, raising $192,638.56 in toys and cash for local children’s charities like Boys and Girls Village in Milford, Rite Way 4 Kids in New Haven, McGivney Community Center in Bridgeport, Chemical Abuse Services Agency Inc. in New Haven, and Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley.
The show featured musical performances from an array of well-known acts, plus appearances by Governor-Elect Ned Lamont, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, and other political dignitaries.
“What an unbelievable morning!” said Eliot Tatelman, President and CEO of Jordan’s Furniture. “Seeing all of these generous people here today with their arms full of toys is simply amazing. There are going to be so many kids within our community who will have a brighter holiday, due to this event. We’re proud to be a part of Chaz and AJ’s Toy Drive again this year, with our friends at 99.1 PLR.”
