Steele Is Back In The Saddle

11

He was laid off by iHeartRadio in April 2016, but that hasn’t turned 45-year radio veteran Dan Steele off the medium he loves. And now he’s been named Station Manager for Holy Family Radio 720 AM WHYF in Shiremanstown, PA — a daytime non-profit station featuring Catholic programs from the EWTN Radio Network and weekly locally produced shows.

Steele’s career has included stops at WPGC Washington, DC, KTSA San Antonio, and many stations in Central Pennsylvania. His most recent job was with WHP in Harrisburg, PA, as Morning Show Producer. This is his first time as Station Manager.

  1. Hey, Dan – It’s nice to see you in my hometown! Steele and Chrissy woke me up every morning during my high-school years!

  2. So good to see a man of conviction and compassion…Radio has denied so many of gainful emplyment, for many valid and invalid reasons. A Man of conviction and compassion on the radio, is just what we need more of. Glad to hear the news…

  3. P.S. So, from an IHeart radio station…. To one with REAL heart, huh? And, Danner, if you’re looking for a freebie (as in N/C) station Imaging Voice… Brother, you know where I hang my headphones! – Much Respect from the Heart of Dixie, way down yonder in New Orleans

  4. WHYF – and central PA – are indeed fortunate and blessed to have THIS guy in the fold, and at he helm. Experienced, versatile, and compassionate, Dan will steer Holy Family radio in the right direction. Having spent years serving under his steady hand in the 70s at WKBO, I know whereof I speak. In HIS name, go get ’em, Danner!
