Community Broadcasters’ Watertown, NY, stations WBDR (The Border 106.7) and WOTT (94 Rock WOTT) raised $110,000 in three days (October 31-November 2) with their Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon to benefit Watertown’s Samaritan Medical Center. Johnny Spezzano, WBDR Program Director, and Lance Hale, WOTT Program Director, broadcast stories of children and families helped by Children’s Miracle Network and asked for donations from their North Country, NY, audience.

Spezzano, who has been hosting the Radiothon for 18 years, said, “I am always astonished by the generosity of the North Country. It is because of them that these children will be able to have a normal, happy life.” Hale echoed those comments, saying, “I know the impact that CMN and Samaritan have on the North Country and I’m glad that Community Broadcasters can be able to use the power of radio to help the families who would otherwise not have access to the care they receive.”

Kristin LaClair, Children’s Miracle Network Development Manager for Samaritan Hospital, said, “It is amazing that Community Broadcasters continues to hit Radiothon out of the park year after year. It is hard to grasp how far $110,000 will go to help children and their families.”
