A format flip to the Jack format by Summit Media in Richmond has long-time morning team Bill Bevins and Shelly Perkins looking for work. Both hosts acknowledged they were let go on their Facebook pages. They spent nearly two decades working together in Richmond, first at LITE 98 then at WJSR (Easy 100.9) starting in 2014.
Here’s a little of what Perkins wrote on her Facebook page, ” While this was not my decision, I want you to know that I was treated with kindness and respect when I was let go. Now, moving on from that, I want to say what a pleasure it has been for me to serve you and the Richmond community for the last 20 years. I am grateful for you and I am grateful for the nearly 18 years I spent in partnership with Bill Bevins. It’s been an honor to work with someone who has been broadcasting for nearly 50 years and is such an icon in Richmond! I’ve enjoyed these years.”
There must have been concerns on the part of the station to let you go….Were you unhappy with management? Will you and Bill try to locate to another station or do you believe your time on the air in the Richmond marked has come to an end?
