Imaging company Benztown has hired radio icon Rick Dees’ longtime personal producer Michael “Motion” Ramos as in-house Audio Producer. In addition to his work producing Dees Entertainment programs, Ramos is a creative DJ with deep audio production experience as a producer for major market stations, including KLBC, KZLA, KPWR, KDAY, KWIE, KMVN, KRLA, KTIE, KXMX, and KXOS.
In addition, Benztown has promoted Kevin Horton, Imaging & Production Director – JACK Radio Network, Flashback, and Adrenaline, to the newly created position of Director of Network Programming. Horton began his radio career as an intern for Hot92 Jamz and Star 98.7 while attending Long Beach State University, and became full-time production and programming assistant for Star and later a mixing engineer for the Clear Channel performance lounge in Los Angeles. That led him to Westwood One as the editor and mix engineer of the Billy Bush Show and imaging director on various specials.
Dave “Chachi” Denes, President, Benztown, said, “Horton and Ramos are the new Starsky and Hutch of the Benztown Long Form Radio Division! Their production skills are among the best in the industry and this partnership will improve and maximize our production output so we can offer even more and better service to our affiliates and partners.”
