Boomer Exits & Kurt Enters As NFL Season Approaches

Westwood One is ready to kick off its 32nd consecutive year as the network radio partner of the National Football League with the opening night game on Thursday, September 6, when the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons. Boomer Esiason will join Kevin Harlan in the booth for his farewell broadcast after 18 seasons with Westwood One.

Hall of Famer and NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner will make his debut as the new lead analyst on Monday, September 10 when the Los Angeles Rams visit the Oakland Raiders in Game 2 of the Monday night doubleheader. Game 1 will feature the New York Jets at Detroit Lions. Rounding out Westwood One’s coverage on opening weekend will be the game on Sunday night, September 9 between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers from Lambeau Field.

This season’s upcoming primetime package consists of the following 69 nationally featured games:
·       Opening Night game
·       17 Monday night games (including one doubleheader)
·       17 Sunday night games
·       13 Thursday night games (not including Opening Night or Thanksgiving night)
·       2 Sunday morning London games
·       2 Saturday double-headers
·       Thanksgiving Day triple-header
·       12 post-season games, including the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl LIII.
