Today, that Regional Mexican FM is enjoying growth under the stewardship of John Bustos, brother of Amador Bustos and the owner of Bustos Media of Wisconsin. In fact, the business climate is so
strong for Hispanic radio in Milwaukee that Bustos has launched a second FM signal targeting Latinos who enjoy Spanish-language programming.

What’s driving Bustos’ success? Has the dynamic of the Milwaukee Hispanic market changed in the latter half of the decade, or is it an economic shift?

Find out in this Hispanic Radio Podcast hosted by Radio + Television Business Report Editor-in-Chief Adam R Jacobson.

Jacobson has a unique perspective: In fall 2011 he produced a report for the then-owner of Bustos’ WDDW-FM 104.7 in Milwaukee, the now-defunct Adelante Media Group, on emerging Hispanic
markets. As such, he’s familiar with the market, but not as it is today.

Learn along with Adam the riches a change to Spanish-language programming could bring your station group.

  1. The Bustos Brothers, I hope that some day when you pay closer attention to what music you put on the air, you may do better radio for the better benefit of you and your investors!.

I wish I could say every thing about how horrible your programming used to be back then when you used to have 101.9 here in Denver, but there is an old cliché that says: If you have nothing good to say, its better no to say anything.

101.9 Was a big bust here in Denver, and oh my God, I just couldn’t believe how vast, super ugly, and unpopular music they used to play. In one hour, if you heard 1 or 2 good songs, you were very lucky because the rest of the hour was full of just garbage!

Every product who looses their main mission ends up in the hole, and The Bustos Brothers have been great sellers convincing investors to enter their business ventures, but they have failed, BADLY, in their intent to create a product with the real music who really has all the guts to be on the air for their commercial value and their popularity and not just because a record label or an independent artist is Pu$$$$hing the song to get as many air plays as possible with the help of the management and cero respect for the audience.

I am writing this because there are many American Radio owners who really believe and respect this People.
I had a friend who was trying to sell me a radio station, and I told him that we may acquire a signal in Salt Lake City, Utah instead of his, and he told me: “Oh no, the Bustos Brothers are out there with their La Grande Network, And I told him: Bring them on, I have cero fear or respect for their programming, and their very poorly designed format’s musical play list, IT REALLY SUCKS!!!!” It used to be as bad as the audio of this PODCAST!!!

If you have and questions about what I just wrote here, Call me: I have the proof to back up what I am saying.

When you program a Musical radio station, it has to be done from the heart and the conflicts of interests, they need to be places aside. Every radio format who charges money, so people can get their music to the air, sooner or later, FAILS!!!!
