
Scripps Radio, Springfield Operations, has hired Tom Oakes as Operations Manager for the five-station cluster of KTTS-FM, KSGF-AM/FM, KRVI-FM, KSPW-FM, and Program Director for KTTS-FM. Since 2015, Oakes worked in Anchorage, AK, as General Manager for Ohana Media Group’s six radio stations (KBBO-FM, KBYR-AM, KFAT-FM, KMBQ-FM, KTMB-FM, & KXLW-FM). Previously, he served as VP/Programming overseeing Ohana’s 11 stations in Alaska and Oregon. From 2005-2011 he worked with New Northwest Broadcasters in a variety of roles with their seven markets across Alaska, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. From 1988-2005 Oakes worked in South Bend, IM, Omaha, NE, Madison, WI.

On joining the Scripps stations in Springfield, Oakes said, “I’m excited to be joining the Scripps Springfield team. A busy Fall lies ahead as we prepare for not only the next ratings sweep, but continue to work with our ongoing projects, promotions, and programming needs across the entire cluster. I am also very humbled to be asked to step into former KTTS PD Mark Grantin’s role, and continue the great work he performed keeping KTTS on top of the Springfield market over the years. I’m looking forward to getting started next week.”
