Hubbard Radio Seattle Market Manager Marc Kaye is stepping down after 45 years in broadcasting. Kaye said he promised himself when he hit the 45 year mark, he was going to get a bit selfish and consider that milestone was enough to prove he had given it his all. “I’m looking forward to spending a whole lot more time with my wife and see what new challenges and chapters I can write as I move forward. I have been fortunate to have worked with the very best and for this I am very grateful.”

Hubbard Radio President and CEO Drew Horowitz said, “Marc’s broadcast career has been his dream come true. It has been my good fortune to have had the opportunity to work with Marc as he is the consummate broadcast professional. Wishing him all the best in his next chapter.”

Hubbard Chair, Ginny Morris added, “Having the opportunity to work with Marc Kaye has been one of the great delights of my career. Marc’s positive spirit, creativity and passion for life made working with him a great joy. Marc will be very hard to replace but we are very happy that he will stay in his position through the transition and will help us find his replacement.”

Kaye’s radio career began in 1973 when he joined Susquehanna Broadcasting’s WGBB Long Island, as an account executive. In his eight-year run at WGBB, Marc was immediately recognized for his talent and leadership, quickly moving up the ranks from account executive to Local Sales Manager and General Sales Manager. In 1979, at the age of 27, Kaye was named General Manager.

At the same time his sales career was beginning, he held on to his sports broadcaster dreams by working as the radio voice of the St. John’s University basketball team and worked for the brand new (at the time) cable sports channel, ESPN.

From 1981 to 1996 Kaye led radio stations in St. Petersburg, Houston, Seattle, Tampa and Los Angeles for companies like Harte-Hanks, Westinghouse, Gannett and Jacor. In 1997, Kaye teamed up with Sandusky Radio to manage Sandusky’s five-station cluster in Seattle. In 2013, the stations were sold to Hubbard. As VP/Market Manager for Hubbard Radio in Seattle, Kaye has overseen major ratings and revenue growth for the five radio stations in the group: KRWM-FM (Warm106.9), KQMV-FM (Movin’ 92.5), KNUC-FM (98.9 The Bull), KIXI-AM (AM 880 KIXI) and KKNW-AM (Alternative Talk 1150 AM).
