WTOP Wins A Dozen CAPBA Awards

This past weekend, WTOP was honored with 12 Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards, including the Outstanding News Operation award and the award for Best Website for WTOP.com.

“These awards are a testament to what an incredibly talented team we have here at WTOP,” said Mike McMearty, WTOP’s Director of News and Programming. “Across a wide range of specialties, from digital to sports, documentaries to feature stories, our people are what set us apart. We feel honored to be able to share in their success.”

WTOP won in the following categories: Outstanding News Operation; Outstanding Website; Outstanding Year-Round Local Sports; Outstanding Newscast; Outstanding Coverage of a Continuing Story; Outstanding News Series; Outstanding Talkshow (Radio Only); Outstanding Documentary/In-Depth Reporting; Outstanding Enterprise Reporting; Outstanding Sports Feature; Best Reporter; and, Outstanding Digital Feature Project.

The awards were presented to WTOP employees on Saturday at the annual Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards Banquet in Ocean City, Maryland.
