After an extended period of operating without ratings, Max Media has chosen Eastlan Ratings for its Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Newport News market. It’s a multi-year deal between Max Media and Eastlan which begins this summer.

Max Media Norfolk GM Keith Barton said, “We needed a ratings system to again measure growth within our building. We feel Eastlan is a perfect alternative and costs a fraction of Nielsen.”

Also, Centennial Broadcasting announced a long-term renewal with Eastlan in their Winchester/Leesburg and Fredericksburg clusters. Centennial’s Fredericksburg Market Manager Mark Bass said, “We did extensive research before moving from Nielsen to Eastlan three years ago and discovered they have a lot of happy clients. Now, after three years of experience using Eastlan, we find that contrary to what some would have lead us to believe, we’ve seen no negative impact or attrition from either our national, regional or local advertisers. In fact, it’s been positive as our business is up. Our decision to renew long-term with Eastlan reflects our confidence in the product moving forward. It was really a no-brainer.”
