Talk Radio 1210 WPHT-AM, KYW Newsradio 1060, and SportsRadio 94WIP in Philadelphia were all recognized by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. The stations took home a total of five Excellence in Broadcasting awards.
Talk Radio 1210 WPHT host Sid Mark was awarded PAB 2018 Radio Broadcaster of the Year, highlighting his achievements in radio over the past 61 years. WPHT also won Outstanding Station Sponsored Event for its Speaker Series. Last year’s event featured Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingraham, Brad Thor, Sharyl Attkisson, Brian Kilmeade, Gov. John Kasich, Jesse Watters, Corey Lewindowski, Roger Stone, and Eric Bolling.
KYW Newsradio took home two 2018 PAB Awards: the Outstanding Radio Promotional Announcement and Contest award for its Traffic Center’s “Traffic Tip Tuesday” promotion, and the PAB Judges’ Merit Award for its “Breakfast Briefing” segment. The segment features local and national stories of interest and airs every weekday during morning drive.
SportsRadio 94WIP was presented with the PAB Award for Outstanding Radio Coverage for its broadcast of the Philadelphia Eagles versus the New York Giants. The game was called by Merrill Reese and Mike Quick with sideline reporting from Howard Eskin.
