Alpha Mankato Stations Raise Big Bucks For St. Jude

Alpha Media Mankato’s KYSM and Z99 raised $77,610 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with a two-day radiothon. The Minnesota stations broadcasted live each day for 12 hours. Sister stations KRBI and KMKO also supported with additional promotional activities. Donations for the radiothon continue to rise each year — up 25% in 2017 and another 20% in 2018. In 2017, the stations approached the community mayors describing the value and merits of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and how the local radiothon has evolved into a community-wide event. March is now proclaimed “St. Jude Month” in the Mankato area.

Alpha Media Mankato Market Manager Bob Rose said, “Each year our greater communities continue to amaze with their generosity. Year after year it’s a pleasure to say that Southern Minnesota residents are true believers in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital mission, evident by their enthusiasm to donate and become Partners in Hope.”
