And the reason Cumulus requested more time was to keep others away who may be thinking about filing a competing plan to restructure Cumulus, muddying up the progress made so far. The original 120 days to keep competitive plans off the table was set to expire March 29. The new date set by the court is June 27. The exclusivity period gives Cumulus an opportunity to negotiate the settlement of its debts by proposing and soliciting support for its plan of reorganization without interference from competing plans from its creditors or others in interest.
