Beasley Fayettville Cluster Raising Opioid Awareness

1

Beasley Media Group’s Fayetteville radio cluster, in collaboration with Cape Fear Valley Health, will present Fayetteville Fights Back to raise awareness about the opioid epidemic. The uninterrupted commercial-free, one-hour live simulcast, featuring experts from the front lines, will take place on Tuesday, January 30, 5-6 p.m. 95.7 WKML, Foxy 99.1, BOB 96.5, 107.7 Jamz, and Sunny 94.3 will break from regularly scheduled programming during afternoon drive to address this important issue.

“It’s our job as broadcasters to inform our local community, and with the high rate of opioid abuse in North Carolina, we felt very strongly about being involved in this cause,” said Erika Beasley, vice-president and market manager of the Fayetteville radio cluster. “While we can’t solve the problem in one hour, we can definitely start the conversation.”

The stations will list resources on their websites and feature frequently asked questions from listeners throughout the broadcast, as well as join the conversation via Facebook Live via Cape Fear Valley’s Facebook page.

  1. As the owner of a competing station in the Fayetteville, NC market, I sincerely applaud the local Beasley cluster for their efforts and involvement in this. Thanks to Radio Ink for covering the story; hopefully stations and clusters in other markets will see the benefit in following suit.
