Sponsorship Spending Expected to Boom in 2018


Radio excels at events, concerts and other large-scale promotions so this story should come as good news to any station interested in increasing revenue this year. In its 33rd annual year-end industry review, WPP’s ESP Properties is projecting sponsorship spending to grow 4.5% in North America this year — to $24.2 billion. Where is the majority of that spending headed? Sports (70%), followed by entertainment (10%), causes (9%) and festivals and fairs (4%).
