The Seattle station teamed up with King 5, Saturday, for the kickoff of the 17th annual Home Team Harvest campaign benefitting Northwest Harvest. With a goal of five million meals for families in need of food assistance in the Puget Sound area, on the first day alone enough food was collected for an incredible 4,156,321 meals. That was thanks to just four live broadcasts from Seattle, Tacoma, Renton, and Redmond.
“Creating audience companionship and responding to the needs of the community is the local-radio difference,” said Ron Harrell, Program Director of Warm 106.9. “We’re proud of how the Warm team partnered with King 5 TV to produce our very first ‘quadcast’ benefiting Northwest Harvest.”
Home Team Harvest will continue to collect donations through the end of December.
