Adams Radio Group’s AC station in Fort Wayne, 103.9 Sunny FM (WWFW), flipped the switch on Wednesday. It’s the fourth consecutive year the station has been serving up holiday music to Fort Wayne listeners.
PD Rob Mackenzi said, “The weather has gotten colder this week. There has been plenty of negative news this year…from the shootings, to the hurricanes, to politics. It seems this year, more than in years past, people are ready for the holidays, and the feel-good energy, the warm memories of years gone by. We are happy to once again provide the Christmas soundtrack to Fort Wayne.”
Sunny FM polled listeners on their station Facebook page, asking them when they wanted to hear all-Christmas music on the radio. Mackenzi says he was surprised at the number of people who wanted to hear holiday tunes so early. For listeners not ready for 24/7 Christmas, 103.9 Sunny FM’s typical playlist of the 80s-til-Now is streaming on 1039sunnyfm.com.
