Shelli Sonstein celebrates 40 years on the New York radio airwaves as co-host of the Jim Kerr Rock and Roll Morning Show by inking a four-year contract extension with Q104.3 Radio, it was announced Wednesday. Sonstein recently won a Gracie Award for best radio co-host and a 2nd for best public affairs show, and has been Kerr’s morning show mate since 2003. Kerr signed a five-year extension last year.
Sonstein first paired with Kerr in 1977-89 at WPLJ Radio in New York. In 1990, the duo joined Country station WYNY in New York, and then joined Q104.3 , where they are beginning their 15th year. Sonstein began her radio career at the age of 18 on WMMR in Philadelphia, her hometown.
