CBS News Radio is launching The Takeout, a national, weekly, one-hour program about politics, policy, and pop culture hosted by CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett and CBS News Political Director Steve Chaggaris. The first episode airs Friday, October 20, with each episode recorded over a meal at a Washington, DC, restaurant. Upcoming guests include Mick Mulvaney, director of the Office of Management and Budget; Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT); Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN); Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX); Sen. Al Franken (D-MN); Carly Fiorina; Gov. Martin O’Malley (D-MD); Corey Lewandowski; and comedian Samantha Bee.

The Takeout breaks the mold of news/talk programming,” said Craig Swagler, General Manager of CBS News Radio. “It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that gives the listener a seat at the table with two great journalists and notable guests, chewing on the latest issues of the day.

The Takeout launches Friday night at 9 PM, CT on KMOX-AM St. Louis, Mo. and will be heard Saturdays and Sundays on WCCO-AM Minneapolis, Minn.; WTMJ-AM Milwaukee, Wisc.; KXNT-AM Las Vegas, Nev.; WECK-AM in Buffalo, N.Y.; and WJJF-FM in Montauk, N.Y. This week, Garrett and Chaggaris interview Secretary of Energy Rick Perry.
