Webster’s stepson told WTAM that Webster recently had surgery after breaking his hip and was resting at his home in central Florida when Hurricane Irma hit. For decades, Webster was part of Cleveland radio news. According to WTAM, Webster began his career in his hometown of Pekin, Ill. He worked in Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, and New York before landing in Cleveland to develop an all-news format for WERE. He later joined WMJI as News Director.
