Radio Handyman Glenn Haege Passes

Detroit’s WJR is reporting via their website that one of their great talents has passed away. “America’s Master Handyman” Glenn Haege died Tuesday morning surrounded by his family following a short bout with cancer. He was 70. Haege has been a fixture on Detroit radio for 34 years and was heard on WJR every Saturday and Sunday morning. Haege’s show, emanating from WJR, was nationally syndicated in 135 markets. Haege was elected to the Michigan Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2011.

Haege is survived by his wife Barbara, their adult children Eric and Heather, his mother Marion, a sister, Sharon, a brother, Robert, and six grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending.
