Luckily, it appears from the reporting, nobody was seriously injured. It all took place at CBS Radio’s Hot 93.7 Hot Jam concert in Hartford on Friday night. In addition to the 90 people that were hospitalized, 50 were charged with underage drinking. The arrests were made in the parking lots surrounding the concert, which featured Chance the Rapper. Twenty-one thousand people attended the concert.
Hartford Fire Capt. Raul Ortiz told The Hartford Courant the constant cycling of transports overwhelmed the department. The police chief said a typical concert sees about 20-30 hospital transports. The chief also said there were 70 officers hired for the event plus medical staff and an underage-enforcement detail. Lady Antebellum is scheduled to play the venue this weekend.
