WFAN Trying Out Hosts For Francesa Slot

Mike Francesa is retiring from WFAN at the end of 2017 and as its been widely reported over the past few days, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is getting a tryout for Francesa’s slot. Others getting an audition for the shift include: Mike Valenti from WXYT-FM 97.1 in Detroit, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms, SNY’s Brian Custer and NFL Network and WFAN contributor Kim Jones. WFAN’s Evan Roberts Joe Benigno are also scheduled to audition, according to several reports.

Francesa has been Radio Ink’s #1 local sports host since our list was created. He announced he would be leaving WFAN about a year ago, but he also said he would not be retiring. There has been some speculation he might get back together with his former WFAN co-host Chris Russo.
