Westwood, NextRadio Create Cool Partnership

TagStation, which owns the NextRadio app, is partnering with Westwood One to produce a new interactive audience measurement tool for over-the-air FM radio. The two companies say this new arrangement will allow Westwood to deliver consumer insights and prove ROI to national advertisers. Westwood started testing the technology back in May and reports the test was very successful.

Through the NextRadio app, while listening to radio, consumers can experience synced interactive ads and content. Listener interactions with a call-to-action, like store directions or promotions, are tracked via the Dial Report. The data is then translated into actionable insights on campaign demographics, brand exposure, listening engagement, in-store traffic, proximity and more.

In May, the network ran a NextRadio campaign for a major retailer on 250 of its radio stations that they say proved radio drove listeners to retail. One-third of people who heard the ad also viewed the companion ad within the app. Of those listeners exposed to the campaign, 10% visited the retailer.
