Nineteen Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards, in fact, including the Outstanding News Operation award and the award for Best Website for WTOP.com. It was more awards than any other station in the metro region. So far in 2017, the station has received over 40 major awards for excellence in journalism, including Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, National Headliner Awards, and a NAB Crystal Award.
