A short press release from Beasley Media in Boston announced the retirement of long-time WKLB PD Mike Brophey. Brophey has been in radio 43 years, at WKLB for 20, and involved with Country programming for 30. The release also stated that Brophey’s wife, longtime APD/Music Director Ginny Rogers, is leaving the station. Brophey has been one of Radio Ink‘s top Country PDs for many years, most of the time near the top of the list, and one year was ranked number one.
